Holly Ridge, North Carolina is a quaint town of approximately 2,600 residents in Onslow County, NC. Situated on the easternmost shores of North Carolina, Holly Ridge is less than 10 minutes from Surf City and North Topsail Beach, giving residents easy access to the beautiful beaches of coastal North Carolina.
The Town of Holly Ridge prides itself on strong military ties and as the home of historic Camp Davis. Citizens enjoy a peaceful, friendly environment in which to live, work, and play. Families with school-age children are served by Natural Wonders, Dixon Elementary School, Dixon Middle School, Dixon High School, and Onslow County Public School. The close proximity to Wilmington and other neighboring towns makes exploring North Carolina’s coasts easy and relatively inexpensive. Another perk of calling Holly Ridge home is that cost of living is slightly below nearby Jacksonville and other surrounding areas.
In addition to its proximity to nearby beaches, Holly Ridge has a handful of parks and wildlife spaces to check out. Liberty Fountain Park, Holly Ridge Municipal Park, and Stump Sound Campground are within a short walking distance from the center of town. All three parks are open to the public year-round and allow for some great views and fresh air no matter the season.
Whether you’re a regular beachgoer or prefer the pace of a small town, Holly Ridge doesn’t disappoint with its annual community events. From January to December, Holly Ridge hosts an Easter Egg Hunt in April, a Memorial Day Ceremony in May, a Festival for Independence Day in July and a spooky Halloween Egg Haunt in October. Later in the year, Holly Ridge has its annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony and Christmas Tree Lighting in November, followed by the Christmas Bonanza Craft Fair and Children’s Christmas Party in December.
